EXPLORING THE ROLE OF SOCIOLINGUISTICS IN TEACHING ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE

Abstract

This article explores the significance of incorporating innovative educational methodologies to enhance teaching and learning processes in order to achieve positive educational outcomes. Specifically focusing on the role of language instructors in promoting linguistic diversity in the classroom, the research delves into the connection between language learning and sociolinguistics. The study conducted at Tashkent Medical University among freshmen from various racial and ethnic backgrounds highlights the importance of sociolinguistics in creating an inclusive learning environment that supports students' unique experiences and requirements. Through a learner profile analysis, the research aims to shed light on the challenges students face in transitioning between educational levels and how language instructors can offer effective support to ensure their success.
