
THE NOIR LEGACY AND ITS INFLUENCE ON CONTEMPORARY LITERATURE
Abstract
The article explores the legacy of noir heritage and influence of the noir detective on contemporary literature. It analyses how noir tropes and themes have been adapted and reinterpreted by contemporary authors, creating new and exciting works of literature. The noir detective, which emerged in American literature of the 1940s and 1950s, has had a profound and indelible influence on modern literature. Noir characteristics such as cynical protagonists, dark atmosphere, and intricate plots continue to resonate with readers and writers today. The article explores how contemporary writers use noir elements to create complex characters, exploring themes of violence, corruption, and moral ambiguity.
